Fronted by Vocalist Sally Cooper and featuring Phillip Stone on Guitar and either Ross Nixon or Michael Davies on Piano This world class Australian Trio creates an inviting and exciting sound that simply must be heard and enjoyed. Jazz and Blues music is where the Trio really shines, but they also have the flexibility to play sophisticated interpretations of just about any style of music according to audience request.

The Sally Cooper Trio also becomes "The Sally Cooper Band" with the addition of a drummer and bassplayer. Their additional floating members are always some of the best available musicians in Australia.

Musicians in The Sally Cooper Trio have performed at some of the most prestigious jazz venues in the world, including The Blue Note in Tokyo and The Ritz Carlton Shanghai.

The base members of the group have also performed as a duo as resident musician 3 -10 month contracts at the Bangkok Shangri-la hotel, ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Mumbai, India, Sheraton Suzhou Hotel and Towers, China, The Westin Chosun Hotel, Seoul, South Korea, The Singapore Hilton Hotel, Le Royal Meridien Hotel, Bahrain, The Grand Millennium cruise aboard the Norwegian Star Cruise ship, and on the?Tahitian Princess?Cruise ship.

Sally Cooper

Australian Vocalist Sally Cooper covers all the Divas, from Ella to Aretha, from Billie Holiday to Norah Jones, from Eva Cassidy to Janis Joplin, but when she sings she treats every note as though it were her own, and they ARE! The most velvety of jazz vocals ranging to spine tingling Bluesy belting, all delivered with Sallys' well tempered and personalised approach.

Sally ' educational background began Sydney with studies of Music theatre, classical operatic, jazz and contemporary singing with illuminaries of Australian theater, The Australian Opera, and The NSW conservatorium of music. She has fronted her own band, Trio and Duo "The Sally Cooper Band, Trio and Duo" for the last 10 years and has been enjoying her busy schedule of performances in Premium venues across Sydney, Australia, and Internationally since its formation. In her backing band, she always picks and chooses the best available, and has been fortunate enough to work with musicians who have also supported artists such as Barbara Streisand, Madonna, Madeleine Peyroux, Frank Zappa, James Taylor and Steve Vai. Thanks to her wealth of knowlege and experience in her craft she is also in demand in Australia as a vocal coach. 

Phillip Stone

Guitarist Phillip Stone has been the permanent member and musical director of Sallys Band since he joined in 1999. Phillip is often praised by qualified International musical contemporaries as really BEING a master of the guitar. Covering styles that range from George Benson to Jimi Hendrix, from Pat Metheny and Wes Montgomery to Larry Carlton. Sophisticated acoustic jazz guitar stylings to showstopping electric Blues Rock.

Phillip has a biography as a performing and recording musician, clinician and teacher that reads like a whos' who of The Australian music industry. Highlights of his career include regular performances at The Sydney Opera house and musical director for a showband that entertained The Duchess Of York. He has worked in bands alongside artists such as Daryl Braithwaite, (from Sherbet,) Buddy Guy and Rick Price. The Addition of Phillip Stone to Sally Coopers team elevated their success to a world class standard. As a Duo they been performing in 5 star hotels internationally (in India, Thailand, Singapore, China, South Korea, Japan, Bahrain, and Tahiti,) for the last 5 years.

Michael Davies

Sally Cooper and Phillip Stone from "The Sally Cooper Duo"are joined by Australian Pianist Michael Davies to form "The Sally Cooper Trio". Michael is a well respected Musician who has performed regularly at all the Sydney International 5 star hotels including The Park Hyatt, Regent, Intercontinental, Sheraton, Hilton, Nikko, Ritz Carlton, ANA, and Shangri-la Hotels.?International engagements include 6 months residence at the Omni Marco Polo, and he recently completed a 3 month engagement with the Sally Cooper Trio in 2007 at The Rasa Sayang 6 star hotel in Malaysia.

He was the musical director for the New Seekers Australian tour, and also performed in Bo Diddleys' band on his national tour of Australia, in Doug Williams band, and with session ace and former Singaporean Rex Goh.

A consummate "Piano man" Michael has an additional skill up his sleeve, as he is also a qualified professional piano tuner, who regularly services 5 star hotels in Sydney. In the wee small hours after the Trios performances ends Michael can sometimes be found tweaking the notes on his piano to pitch perfection.
